Now that I'm over 50, the adults from my childhood are growing fewer. Recently I attended the funeral visitation for Harold, a special friend of the family.
My memories of Harold are vivid. Large build, dark hair and booming voice. A consummate joker, he would always poke fun, challenge children to duals and, yes, even torment me as a small child. You could pick any topic and Harold would debate you and harassment all in the name of fun. He made everyone smile and laugh.
To have such clear memories of such a wonderful man is priceless. When I drove back from the visitation, I wondered why I remembered Harold so vividly. Maybe it was his lakeside cabin that I treasured. After all, "You have no idea how many friends you have until you purchase a cabin on the lake," my father always said.
Regardless, Harold is that "old" adult that I have very early memories. I hope that you too would be so lucky to have such wonderful memories of old friends. Call Burnett Wilson Law at (402) 810-8611 or contact us online to schedule a free consultation.
