
Kimberley A. Hughes

About
Kimberley Hughes is a member of the Estate Planning Team at Burnett Legal Group. Her practice specializes in the areas of estate planning, elder law, business law, and tax. She represents clients with respect to all aspects of asset protection planning, whether it’s for high-net-worth clients or to shelter assets for those running out of money in a nursing home. She also assists clients with long-term care planning and special needs planning. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Nebraska State Bar Association, and the Omaha Bar Association.
Kim received her Juris Doctor from the Creighton University School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Creighton University College of Business, where she double majored in Accounting and Finance. It was at Creighton where she first started working with senior citizens by helping them file tax returns and assisting with tax disputes and audits.
Prior to joining the firm, Kim worked in private practice doing both estate planning and general litigation. She has also worked as a tax attorney in the corporate environment.
Kim enjoys spending time with her family and watching college sports. She is a UNL Extension Master Gardener and volunteers with various community and veterans organizations and her church. She loves cooking, gardening, hiking, and traveling.
